This past week we were all caught totally by surprise and found our town
(and many other Queensland towns)
flooded...AGAIN!
I've seen so many recently that the shock factor at seeing so much water has almost gone.
What still amazes me every time though is how brown the water is.
I cannot believe people swim in it...but they do...dopes!

I've never been a big fan of brown.
Five years in a brown high school uniform probably caused that!
But brown can be nice...see.....

This song is older than me...just!

This week the kids found the cricket bat and wanted a hit in the back courtyard.

We couldn't find the cricket ball.

We couldn't even find any tennis balls...perfect for backyard cricket, right?

So my husband walked down to the main street to buy a cheap can of tennis balls.

Boy, did peeling the lid open take me back.

I played in a tennis team every weekend when I was a kid.

There's nothing like the smell of new tennis balls!

The Australian Open is on right now.

It's one of my favourite TV viewing events.

I'd love to see it live one day!

I couldn't do a tennis set without adding a tennis bracelet now could I?

On Friday we saw a movie, had dinner and stayed at our favourite hotel.

This week the theme is...

Apparently Pantone's colour of the year for 2013 is Emerald.

I don't know what Pantone is.

But I do know I love emerald!

And I also love emerald cut diamonds.

Wouldn't it be nice to have one of these?

my Snap

It first hit down south.
Then ever so kindly moved up so we wouldn't miss out.
We are at day two of a six day heatwave.
This is the end of the steamy day one, yesterday.

my Set

Some people like to hit the beach when it gets hot.
Not me!
That's the last place I want to be.
Tooooooooo hot!
It doesn't matter how much sunscreen I put on, I always get burnt.
Give me a cool pool in the shade, preferably with a cocktail bar.
And these colours make me feel 10 degrees cooler already.

Here's another tune I discovered whilst searching for the perfect SS&S song.
I love how they've used Tarzan Boy.

I did and I was so pleased when Samantha Jade won.
She looks and sounds like the perfect little pop star.
And I loved her winner's single.
But I am pretty disappointed with the video.

On New Year's Eve my husband and I realized that we didn't get a single date alone last year.

Not one!

So this new year, I would love to have at least five dates.

For Valentine's Day, his birthday, our wedding anniversary, my birthday, and one...just because...
