Musical

It's Thursday!

Time for my...

Snap, Set & Song.

This week the theme is

MUSICAL

a Snap - I took almost 50 photos trying to get the perfect snap for this week. I still don't think it's perfect, but it's the one I think is the best of the lot. I like to think of myself as being 'musical'. I had piano lessons for years and did AMEB exams to 4th grade. That's four exams (I skipped 3rd grade) with A - Honours every time. I'm pretty proud of that. So my baby grand piano charm on my charm bracelet and my big piano (which was my Grandmother's 21st birthday present) are both very special to me.
a Set - I didn't realize how difficult I'd made this for myself when I chose the theme this week! I had three drafts and didn't know which way to go! In the end I went with high end glamour because I love it and the only place I get to play with it is on Polyvore. So here's my set for an evening out at the theatre for a musical premier. I wish they'd make Moulin Rouge into a stage show!
a Song - Speaking of Moulin Rouge...this is one of my most favourite musicals. It's a love it or hate it kind of movie. I've never met anyone sitting of the fence for this one. I LOVE it. And my husband hated it. He wanted to walk out of the cinema when we went to see it, but he stayed for me....awwwww. This movie did something for my musical soul. When I first heard the elephant love song medley I was in musical heaven! So many great songs melded together in perfect harmony (see what I did there?) I don't have that one as my song for this week because there wasn't a good video for it. But click HERE to listen because I know you want to. This week's song is an equally great one from Moulin Rouge.

  2. I am always impressed by people who stick to learning an instrument and play it well. If I'm not Beethoven after the first lesson, then it's all too hard!

I love your polyvore set! Everything in it is divine, and I agree that Moulin Rouge should be a musical!! (I'm curious as to what your other sets were going to be too.)

I love love love Moulin Rouge and have watched it countless times. My husband didn't like it either, mainly because of some of the soundtrack. There are some unusual numbers. But Come What May and The Elephant Love Medley and a couple of others, I could listen to over and over, and never tire of them. I especially adore Ewan MacGregor's voice, and absolutely fell in love with him in this movie.

It was the first and only time I liked Nicole Kidman too. :)

    1. Wendy, I had set all ready to go for Jersey Boys. It's still in drafts because I still love it. But it didn't feel quite right for this theme. So I tried a set with no fashion, just musical instruments, music scores and musical symbols. I loved that too, but missed the fashion. So I came up with this one. Perfect! :)

  3. I'm with Mark, give me musicals in every style and I will sit there and love every second of it. I'm yet to go 'blah' about any musical....love your theme Thea, just wish there were more pictures for me to gawk at.

  4. Wow, what a fun idea! I have signed up for Polyvore but haven't really used it before. I guess I should learn what to do so I can join in!

Thanks for linking up to my newly revived #SundaySong link up! I'm so glad you joined in.

Give me a a couple of weeks or so to navigate my way through Polyvore and I'll be back here soon to party with you!

    Best wishes,
    Natasha.
