Mask

It's Thursday...

Snap, Set & Song day!

This week the theme is -

MASK

a Snap
This week I was inspired to chose the theme of mask when I noticed my favourite trinkets from Venice hanging on our walls. I had five small clay masks from two visits. Tragically, I just smashed one while I was cleaning it ready to snap it for this post. Does that mean I have to go back one day to replace it?

a Set
If I ever do go back to Venice, it would be amazing to be there for the Carnival in February. Venice is the most beautiful city in the world. It would be incredible to witness the costumes and theatre of the Carnival. I don't know that I'd be brave enough to dress up, but I'd love to wear this if I was.

a Song
The song this week is from Venice's most famous composer with images of the Carnival.

  1. My favourite thing ever: masks and theatre, so Venice has a soft spot in my heart. Beautiful mask, but I will admit I love your set more - just spectacular!
PS: I'll travel with you to Carnivale, pick a year and I'm there!

  2. I would love to dress up in the items from your set - so dramatic! Have you read the book The Man in the Picture? It's a spooky story about masks and Venice. Very cool. xx

  3. Masks have always intrigued me. I also picked up some masks in Venice ... one is hanging right outside my bedroom.

I would have liked to go with masks from Mardi Gras in New Orleans but since I had never been there for Mardi Gras (I have been there a few times at other times of the year) I didn't have the snap. I do have some from the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort in Disney World, but I was determined to do this week without ANY mention of or photo from WDW. :-)

  4. When I thought of mask the first thing that popped in to my head was my fav musical, The Phantom of the Opera. I've never been to Venice. It would love to one day. Love your set!
